ICPMS Spectrometer NexION 1100
Perkin Elmer
Designed to industrialize daily trace element analysis, the NexION 1100 ICP-MS offers a unique combination of robustness, ease of use, and productivity for routine testing laboratories.
The NexION 1100 ICP-MS is a benchtop inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer featuring a triple quadrupole architecture and a single gas channel, designed specifically for routine laboratories.
Advantages
Triple quadrupole ICP-MS (Q0 – Q1 – Q2) featuring a single-analyzer architecture and a single gas channel for efficient interference removal.
Universal Cell capable of operating in Standard, Collision, and Reaction modes, providing a comprehensive solution for most elements.
All Matrix Solution (AMS) technology offering in-line gas dilution up to 200x to handle challenging matrices without the need for systematic dilution.
Durable LumiCoil™ RF load coil, requiring no active cooling, ensuring excellent plasma stability and reduced maintenance.
The NexION 1100 ICP-MS was developed for routine elemental analysis laboratories looking to leverage the power of ICP-MS without adding complexity to their daily operations. Its design is based on a single-analyzer architecture with three quadrupoles: the Quadrupole Ion Deflector (Q0), the Universal Cell (Q1), and the mass analyzer (Q2), providing three levels of mass resolution to control interferences as soon as the ion beam enters. This architecture allows for the combination of Standard, Collision, and Reaction modes within a single gas channel, enabling most elements to be processed using a single gas without frequent configuration changes.
The All Matrix Solution (AMS) technology enables in-line gas dilution up to approximately 200x, which simplifies the management of concentrated matrices while limiting the risk of deposits and interface contamination. The RF generator, paired with the LumiCoil™ load coil, ensures fast ignition, automatic impedance matching, and exceptional plasma stability without the need for active cooling. Coupled with Syngistix™ for ICP-MS software which features a real-time dashboard, integrated maintenance reminders, and data management tools compliant with regulatory requirements the NexION 1100 stands as a high-performance, durable, and user-friendly routine ICP-MS solution.
Type: Quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS), triple quadrupole configuration, benchtop design.
Mass Range: Typically from 1 to 285 amu (atomic mass units), covering nearly all analytical elements suitable for ICP-MS.
Mass Resolution: Multiple resolution modes via the three quadrupoles, allowing for precise interference targeting and sensitivity optimization (from ppm to ppq depending on the element).
Detection Limits: Reaching down to parts per quadrillion (ppq) for certain elements in clean matrices, thanks to the Universal Cell and quadrupoles.
Dynamic Range: Extended Dynamic Range up to approximately 14 orders of magnitude ($10^{14}$), enabling the measurement of both low and high concentrations in a single analysis.
Analytical Throughput: Analysis time as low as approximately 55 seconds per sample for 50–60 elements, depending on the method and configuration.
